Be among the first players to fight dragon-fire with dragon-fire and play MTG's Tarkir: Dragonstorm before release day. Attend any of 5 of GNG's Prerelease events on Prelease Weekend, April 4-6, 2025 and battle to assert your clan’s supremacy on Tarkir.
Here are the great dragon clans of Takir:
- Abzan (White-Black-Green)
- Jeskai (Blue-Red-White)
- Sultai (Black-Green-Blue)
- Mardu (Red-White-Black)
- Temur (Green-Blue-Red)
For the Tarkir: Dragonstorm set, Prerelease Packs come in five different dragon clan editions—one for each of Tarkir’s dragon clans, each with a related clan-seeded booster—allowing you to align with your favorite clan or try them all across multiple events. At this event, Each team will receive two prerelease packs at random, but everyone will have a chance to swap with others before play commences. Please plan on arriving at least 30 minutes early for check-in.
EVENT DETAILS
- Date & Time: Sunday, April 6, 2025 at 5 pm (Check-in starts 1 hour prior to event time)
- Format: Sealed 2-Headed Giant. You and your partner will each build a 40-card deck from the cards included from the 2 Prerelease Kits your team will receive prior to the start. The event will last 3 rounds. Matches each round will be best of 1 game. Deck-building as well as each Tournament Round will be timed.
- Prizes: One Play Booster per Match Win for each team member. In addition, door prizes will also be awarded by random drawing!
- Cost: $69.99 (includes two Prerelease Packs - one for each team member)

- 1 Tarkir: Dragonstorm Seeded Booster
- 14 clan-aligned cards including 1 Traditional Foil Rare or Mythic Rare
- 5 Tarkir: Dragonstorm Play Boosters
- Each Play Booster may contain these cards: TDM 1–286, 292–398; SPG 104–113
- 1–4 cards of rarity Rare or higher (2: 26%; 3: 2%; 4: <1%),
- 3–5 Uncommon cards
- 6–9 Common cards
- Traditional Foil Land replaces a Land in 20% of boosters.
- 1 card of any rarity is Traditional Foil
- Foil Borderless Mythic Planeswalker in <% of boosters
- 1 Traditional Foil Rare or Mythic Rare
- 1 clan-aligned deck box
- 1 clan-aligned Spindown die
